Google Pixel 10a Leaks Reveal Familiar Design and Key Specs — But One Surprise Under the Hood

Google’s affordable Pixel is back in the headlines — the Pixel 10a has just leaked in a new set of CAD-based renders, giving us an early look at what to expect from the brand’s next mid-range phone.

While most of the Pixel 10 lineup launched in August, the 10a is still missing in action. Earlier rumors hinted at a 2025 release, but fresh leaks now suggest Google will unveil it in early 2026, slightly ahead of the Pixel 9a’s March debut.

Familiar Design, Subtle Tweaks

If you were hoping for a major redesign, you might be disappointed — the Pixel 10a looks almost identical to the Pixel 9a. The signature camera bar remains flush with the plastic back and houses two rear cameras. Up front, the bezels are still fairly thick, and Google continues its unique button layout, with the volume rocker sitting above the power button — a quirk many Pixel fans either love or hate.

Dimension-wise, the phone reportedly measures 153.9 x 72.9 x 9 mm, making it just a bit shorter, narrower, and thicker than the 9a. The display size is expected to remain unchanged.

Older Chip, Slightly Faster Performance

One of the biggest surprises is inside the phone. The Pixel 10a might skip Google’s latest Tensor G5 chip in favor of a higher-clocked version of the Tensor G4, likely to keep costs down. While it’s not a massive downgrade, it suggests Google is focusing on price-to-performance balance rather than pushing raw power.

Price and Software Support

The Pixel 10a is rumored to start at $499, the same as its predecessor, with 128GB of storage as the base option. Despite the mid-range positioning, the phone will still enjoy Google’s promise of 7 years of software updates, making it one of the longest-supported Android phones in its class.

If these leaks are accurate, the Pixel 10a will continue Google’s winning formula — premium software and camera performance at a budget-friendly price, even if the hardware feels a bit too familiar.
