Vivo V17 Pro – Pop-Up Glamour, Quad Cameras, and a Notch-Free Display That Turns Heads!

Introduction

The Vivo V17 Pro perfectly sums up everything trendy in today’s smartphone world — flashy design, pop-up cameras, and an all-screen display. It’s stylish, futuristic, and definitely not shy about showing off. With its dual pop-up selfie cameras, quad rear setup, and immersive OLED display, the V17 Pro feels like a Swiss Army knife of smartphones.

Arriving just six months after the V15 Pro, the V17 Pro keeps everything that made its predecessor popular — the sleek design, Snapdragon 675 chipset, and a clean, notch-free screen — but upgrades nearly every other aspect. You now get a secondary ultra-wide selfie lens, a telephoto camera at the back, a bigger battery, USB Type-C (finally!), and 8GB of RAM instead of 6GB.

Design

The Vivo V17 Pro was clearly made to turn heads. Its bezel-free front and shimmering back panel make a strong first impression. Despite packing four rear cameras, it still manages to stay sleek with no visible camera hump.

The phone uses Gorilla Glass 6 on both sides, giving it a premium glass-sandwich look. The back comes in a stunning Glacier White shade that reflects light beautifully. Up front, the 6.44-inch AMOLED screen dominates — no notch, no punch-hole, just pure screen.

An in-display fingerprint scanner sits near the bottom, lighting up when you pick up the phone. It’s fast, accurate, and among the better ones in this price range.

The pop-up selfie module is now larger, housing two front cameras — a 32MP main sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide shooter — plus an LED flash tucked in between for night selfies. It’s fast, smooth, and adds a cool futuristic touch.

Display

The Vivo V17 Pro’s 6.44-inch Samsung-made AMOLED screen is a showstopper. With a Full HD+ resolution (2400×1080) and tall 20:9 aspect ratio, it delivers vibrant colors and deep blacks. It’s one of the few mid-range phones offering a completely notch-free experience — a huge plus for binge-watchers and gamers.

Brightness peaks at around 500 nits, which is great for outdoor use. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 6 and even comes with a pre-applied screen protector out of the box.

Battery Life

Battery life is another strong point. The V17 Pro packs a 4100mAh battery, an upgrade from the 3700mAh cell in the V15 Pro. It easily lasts a full day of heavy use.

The included 18W Dual Engine fast charger juices the phone from 0% to 40% in about 30 minutes, with a full charge taking roughly 1 hour and 40 minutes. In testing, the V17 Pro achieved an excellent endurance rating of 107 hours — with 14 hours of web browsing and over 19 hours of video playback.

Software

Running on Funtouch OS 9.1 (based on Android 9 Pie), the interface is colorful but heavily customized. It borrows a lot of design cues from iOS — like the control center that appears when you swipe up instead of down.

The under-display fingerprint and face unlock features both work fast and reliably. Gesture navigation is available, though many users may still prefer the traditional on-screen buttons for comfort.

There’s no app drawer — all apps appear on the home screen — but you can organize them into folders or install a third-party launcher if you prefer a cleaner layout.

Performance

Powering the Vivo V17 Pro is the Snapdragon 675 chipset — the same processor used in the V15 Pro. It’s paired with 8GB RAM and Adreno 612 GPU, making it great for everyday tasks, multitasking, and moderate gaming.

Built on the 11nm process by Samsung, the chipset is efficient and runs cool under load. While it’s not a flagship chip, it holds up well for its price and ensures smooth performance across most apps and games.

Camera

Cameras are the star of the show here. The V17 Pro features a quad-camera setup — 48MP main, 13MP telephoto, 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP depth sensor.

The primary 48MP Sony IMX582 sensor captures sharp, detailed photos with rich colors. The telephoto lens offers 2x optical zoom, while the ultra-wide camera lets you fit more into each shot without much distortion. All lenses support autofocus, which is great for both landscapes and close-ups.

The dual pop-up selfie cameras are equally impressive. The 32MP main lens delivers crisp selfies, while the 8MP ultra-wide sensor lets you include more friends or background scenery in your shots. Night Mode helps brighten up dim environments, making low-light selfies look great.

Verdict

The Vivo V17 Pro checks almost every box — eye-catching design, notch-free AMOLED display, great battery life, versatile cameras, and solid performance. It’s stylish, reliable, and built to impress.

However, its biggest drawback is pricing. Like many Vivo and Oppo phones, it’s slightly overpriced compared to rivals that offer similar or even better specs for less.

Still, if you’re drawn to its premium design, pop-up cameras, and all-screen display, the V17 Pro is a great choice — especially if you can find it at a discounted price.
