OnePlus has officially confirmed that its next big software update — OxygenOS 16 — will launch globally on October 16, 2025. The upcoming update is set to deliver a major leap in AI-powered performance, multitasking, and cross-device connectivity, even extending support to select Apple devices for the first time.
OnePlus Teases “Intelligently Yours” Launch Event
The company revealed the news through an event teaser titled “Intelligently Yours”, hinting that OxygenOS 16 will be infused with AI-driven optimizations and new cross-ecosystem features. The focus is on smoother multitasking, faster performance, and deeper integration across OnePlus phones, tablets, and connected devices.
Rollout Timeline
The OxygenOS 16 rollout will begin shortly after the global announcement, starting with the latest OnePlus 13 series, OnePlus 12, and the OnePlus Open. Older models will receive the update gradually over the following weeks.
The OnePlus Pad 3 and other ecosystem products will also get dedicated feature updates through synchronized OTA rollouts. However, Mac-to-OnePlus file sharing and some advanced features will roll out by November 2025, according to OnePlus’ official roadmap.

New Features in OxygenOS 16
OxygenOS 16 introduces a new performance engine called “OnePlus Flow Motion”, designed to enhance system fluidity and responsiveness. OnePlus claims users can enjoy zero-lag multitasking for up to three hours, even while switching between apps, gaming, or watching videos.
On the OnePlus Pad 3, multitasking gets even better — users can now run up to five active apps and resize floating windows with a simple swipe. A smarter memory management system also ensures smoother transitions and improved productivity across screens.
Perhaps the biggest highlight is cross-device compatibility via O+ Connect. Users can drag and drop files, mirror screens, and control multiple devices across both Windows and Mac systems.
For the first time, iPhones will also be part of the OnePlus ecosystem — allowing photo and file sharing via proximity connections using the O+ Connect app. Even Apple Watch users (Series 6 and later) can now sync health data with OnePlus phones through the OHealth app, marking OnePlus’ first major collaboration beyond Android.
OxygenOS 16 also brings instant data transfer between OnePlus devices — simply bump them together to share files or media instantly. Integration with OnePlus Pad has been boosted too, allowing effortless screen sharing, syncing, and photo transfers.
