Huawei has launched the Nova Flip S in China — a refreshed version of last year’s Nova Flip — with eye-catching new color options and a surprisingly lower starting price.
The new Nova Flip S keeps much of the same hardware as its predecessor but adds a splash of style with six color choices: Feather Black, White, Azure Blue, Green, Soft Pink, and Star Black. Huawei has also slashed the starting price to CNY 3,388 (roughly $475) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model, making it one of the most affordable foldable smartphones currently available in China.
Under the hood, the Nova Flip S runs on an unnamed Kirin 8-series chipset, which is widely rumored to be the Kirin 8030. This replaces the Kirin 8000 used in the previous Nova Flip model.
In terms of specs, the rest remains unchanged — you get a 2.14-inch OLED cover display, a 6.94-inch LTPO OLED main screen with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and a 4,400mAh battery that supports 66W fast wired charging.
For photography, the phone features a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.56-inch RYYB sensor (f/1.9), accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide lens. On the front, there’s a 32MP selfie camera.
The Huawei Nova Flip S comes with HarmonyOS 5.1 out of the box and is now available for pre-orders in China.
